If you’ve tried to place an order on our site recently, you may have noticed that shipping to EU destinations is temporarily unavailable.
We want to be completely transparent about why we’ve made this choice, what’s happening behind the scenes, and what it means for the future of our small business.
The Challenge Behind the Scenes
As a small team, every package that leaves our doors is packed with care. But shipping internationally has become increasingly complex.
Recently, the EU introduced updated compliance framework requirements surrounding packaging and recycling—specifically through the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) requirements across individual member states.
These rules require businesses to:
- Re-evaluate every single layer of packaging (from boxes and tape to tissue paper and void fill) to meet strict recyclability and chemical standards.
- Register, report, and pay recycling contributions in individual EU countries.
- Issue technical documentation and formal declarations proving our packaging materials meet new environmental criteria.
While we fully support initiatives that reduce waste and protect the environment, the administrative and logistical weight for a business of our size is substantial. Big corporations have dedicated legal and compliance departments to handle these shifts seamlessly; for us, it’s a hands-on learning process while running day-to-day operations.
Why We Choice to Pause (Instead of Rushing)
Rather than risking unexpected delays, customs rejections, or extra fees for you at your border, we made the decision to temporarily hold back on EU dispatch.
Taking a short pause allows us to:
- Audit our packaging suppliers to ensure 100% compliant, eco-friendly, and mono-material packaging options.
- Establish the proper registration and reporting workflows so our shipments clear customs smoothly.
- Protect your customer experience so when you order from us, your parcel arrives without hitch or surprise charges.
What Happens Next?
We are actively working through the new regulatory framework and setting up the systems we need to resume shipping safely and responsibly.
We deeply value our European community, and pausing sales was not a decision we made lightly. We are working hard to welcome you back as quickly as possible.
